TONGASS ZINC ANODE WEIGHT - This is a compact skimmer weight 5.6 ounces, 3 1/4 inches in diameter, and 1/4 inch in thickness. It’s a simple solid zinc disk, but it’s probably the most effective weight for your skimmer baskets. It’s cheap, effective, and will save you from headaches later on.
ANTI-ELECTROLYSIS SACRIFICIAL ANODE - Aside from weighing down your skimmer basket, this zinc anode weight neutralizes the salt in pools with salt systems, protecting metal components of the ladders, screws, rails, lighting frames, and other metal components that are in constant contact with the saltwater.
GALVANIC ANODE FOR PASSIVE CATHODIC PROTECTION - The way the sacrificial anode works is that it corrodes first before other metal components in the pool - the zinc (anode) basically protecting more “noble” metals (cathode). Together with equipotential and pool water bonding, this galvanic anode will aid in preventing corrosion.
